EXAMPLE
In this example we will compare a large music collection (c:\My Music) with another large collection on an external drive (H:\). In this case we want find all file duplicates, regardless of the filename. We want to delete the duplicate files on our C drive but keep the original files on the external H drive. The field in the Duplicate File Finder windows will be filled out like this:
- Search folder(s): H:\; C:\My Music
- File Extension(s): MP3;WMV;AIF;WAV
- Compare files by: Size, Content
- Autoselect : Checked
After pressing 'find' the scanner will start searching for duplicate files in both specified folders. After it has finished searching, duplicate files on the C drive will be selected. All we have to do now is review the list of duplicates and then press the 'delete selected files' button.
